Hi, I'm Eamonn...

I'm the decorator behind E P. Murray Decorating. Based in Derby and the surrounding areas, I bring over 35 years of decorating experience to domestic, industrial, and commercial properties, including hotels, pubs, shops, and offices. My extensive skill set and knowledge ensures I can assist with any project you have in mind.

In addition to decorating, I am proficient in small building works, providing a comprehensive service. I also have a network of trusted and qualified tradespeople to recommend for any additional needs.

TAILORED SERVICE

I provide a unique decorating service that begins with an initial face-to-face consultation to discuss your project's requirements.

I can also supply product recommendations, colour scheme advice, and samples to help you make informed decisions.

PREPARATION

I ensure that the preparation stage is as meticulous as the final finish to ensure a lasting high quality result.

I always use a dustless sanding system wherever possible. Regardless of the condition of walls, ceilings, woodwork, UPVC, or metalwork, I ensure surfaces are prepared, revitalised with decorators skim, even addressing Artex surfaces if needed.

PRACTICES & PRODUCTS

I ensure the walls are treated with the necessary solutions to address any problem areas. Then, I use durable, high quality, wipeable, scrub resistant emulsions for walls & ceilings.

For wood, UPVC & metal, I use durable, quick-drying, water-based acrylic enamel that resists weather and doesn’t yellow.

All the products I use are zero-low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) ensuring fewer harmful chemicals in your home.

PAINT, STAIN & VARNISHING

I have a comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of painting, with a particular expertise in addressing problem areas.

I am skilled in preparing new wood for varnishing or staining and in rejuvenating existing wood by sanding and stripping to achieve the desired finish.

WALLPAPERING

I have the skilled proficiency to hang a wide variety of wall coverings and wallpaper. This includes standard wallpapers, durable vinyl options, and high-end designer papers.

My expertise ensures a smooth and professional finish, no matter the type of wall covering used.
